Clesa

Clesa started off in 1940 as a dairy farm pioneering in pasteurizing technique for the sale of hygienized milk. In 1943 it was established as such and in 1954 it obtained the franchise for one of the diaries to be installed in Madrid. The tremendous development of the Company began in 1963 with the commissioning of a new plant.

During the seventies a phase of expansion took place with the establishment and installation of six dairies supplying the Spanish population as a whole. Amongst these we may single out the Letona Dairy in Barcelona, the proprietor of the popular Cacaolat.

In 1998, it went on to form part of the European group Parmalat and, in turn, acquired Nuprosa and Helados Royne, in order to enlarge its already extensive range of dairy products. Finally, en 2007, Clesa was taken over by the food group Nueva Rumasa, which incorporated all the plants, commercial offices and brands: Clesa, Royne, Cacaolat, Ryalcao, Letona and La Levantina.

From those beginnings Clesa has always set out to offer the consumer quality first and foremost, combining its 60 years of experience with the highest technology at every stage of production.
